It is the symbol of our Gabonese passport, symbol of our young nation. It is also the root of civilisation. Mother and Child incarnate unconditional Love and symbolise the future. The mother is proud, she holds her head high and her gaze contemplates what lies beyond. She is powerful because she is the mother of a nation. She is universal. She carries her child and nurtures him with her powerful, ancestral and divine knowledge. She is a giver of life, she is a giver of light.
In 2007 the first edition of this work was acquired by the Fran Daurel Foundation. Every year over 300,000 people admire this powerful piece exhibited in the foundation's sculpture garden in Pueblo Español, Barcelona.
